A nebulizer
compressor is a compact medical device designed
to efficiently deliver physician prescribed
medication to the bronchial lung passages. This
compressor was developed for the successful
treatment of asthma, allergies and other
respiratory disorders. The compressor creates a
stream of air that travels through a clear tube
to the nebulizer. When air enters the nebulizer,
it converts the prescribed medication into
aerosol mist for easy inhalation.
Aerosol treatments can be delivered through a
variety of neb kits. The most commonly used is
called a T-KIT with mouthpiece. The patient
must place the mouthpiece between the teeth and
inhale and exhale through the mouthpiece.
Another option is aerosol treatment through a
mask. The patient must place the mask over the
mouth and nose. There is a nasal treatment
available for infants using the pacifier neb
kit.
A nebulizer compressor is medically necessary
when prescribed by a licensed physician (MD, DO,
or ARNP). |
